About
Romain Buffetrille (1999) is a painter and sculptor from Avenches who lives and works between Fribourg and Neuchâtel. After obtaining his CFC in librarianship, he studied at ERACOM and completed his maturité at EIKON in Fribourg.
Par la suite, il se forme à l’Académie De Meuron à Neuchâtel.
Romain's artistic language revolves around the representation of the body as a symbol, in all its transcendent and ineffable aspects, through its moments of ascent and fall. In creating his pictorial spaces, he wishes to play on intangibility, but also on the difficulty of inking the "Real" and its forms.
His compositions are linked to his theoretical research into the various forms of the sacred in the world, and the way in which it has been diverted and transposed into the most everyday forms of life.
